Descending Cliché

from Odds and Ends by Reuben Walton

/

about

I made this instrumental sometime in 2011 during the time that I was at UMass Lowell in my dorm room. The title of the composition is based on the descending passing tones in the synth chord progression being played. The title is also a phrase I got from my former guitar teacher Aston Wright of East Falmouth, MA, that I first heard him use when I was learning how to play the jazz standard "My Funny Valentine" and he was referring to its chord progression.
