Amber's Instrumental Song (feat. Amber Scanlan)

about

An ever-churning, constantly changing stew of beats and rhythms that is best when put on a plate and served chilled. That description, by the way, is partially from the description for some ambient internet radio station I used to listen to called Groove Salad. This definitely could work as a breakdancing piece. My late friend Amber asked to have full creative control over her own polyrhythmic piece, and I obliged. However, I did create at least one of the loops that she used for one of the loop sections, and both of our vocals and lyrics are featured in the song. However, I think in giving her mostly full creative control, I also didn't advise her on how to loop sections in GarageBand, which could be why a lot of the song features loops that don't repeat, until the song finally settles on one main beat about halfway through. This song was originally uploaded to my SoundClick music page at www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=541671&content=music on Sunday 10/5/2008. The track artwork is a picture taken by either my Mom or David R. Wald during their trip to New Orleans, LA circa 2007. I have no idea who's kids those are that are sitting with the person in the Easter Bunny costume, and I asked my Mom and she doesn't know either. The picture was taken with my Mom's old digital camera. I compressed the image size to fit square dimensions and fit pixel requirements. What I'm about to say to Amber at the end of my vocals is that at my Dad's old house at 30 Hilton Avenue, Woods Hole, MA 02543, there was a mylar balloon that was for a birthday party that ended up staying up at the top of the high ceiling in the living room for several months after the party.

lyrics

Amber Scanlan: Yeah, do it.
Reuben Walton: What!
AS: Do it! (Gasps) What? Why is it way up here?
RW: I don't know.
AS: Whatever.
RW: He had a balloon in the--in the room...(fades)
