I've loved this song ever since I first heard it in like 2008 on their sixth full-length studio album Befriended, which was released in 2003, so I decided to try my hand at covering it. There's also some Best Coast influence with the background vocals near the end and general shoegaze influence with the reverb and multiple vocal tracks. I've refined my mixing technique, largely abandoning my old effect of having one track Auto-tuned and the other one unaltered, just because there is a lot of nuance and subtlety to the voice when it is not locked into place by pitch correction effects. I feel like I can afford to do that in some songs because I have a good enough innate sense of relative pitch. This is performed on my Taylor 214ce electric-acoustic guitar.
