The Chipmunks Rebel

from Diamonds and Plastic by Reuben Walton

about

This song features me rapping a freestyle, over a beat that is based around a sample from DSD's club banger song, 'Look Back At It', and I talk about a bunch of random stuff, including the fact that I was putting on my belt, barbecue sauce, Michael Jackson, the mixed-up switched names of a couple people from Falmouth, MA, and general bravado. Maybe I wanted to see how aggressive I could make my vocal while recording while exerting my energy to put on my belt, and I frankly can't remember why it was difficult enough to elicit that kind of grunting, growling delivery, but it did. I think it might have had something to do with the fact that my laptop was on a table in front of a couch that was a short coffee table, and I had to have my mouth close enough to the microphone for it to pick up the sound. I also don't know why I didn't just put it on then record, but I guess I wanted to experiment. This song was originally uploaded to my SoundClick music page at www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=541671&content=music on Sunday 12/9/2007.
