This is another musique concréte/hybrid piece. Containing various clicks, bumps, and vaguely distant synth voices which start out playing dead, lifeless zombie arpeggios evocative of the creatively stifling effects of practicing Aural Skills and end up playing some interesting harmonies and rhythmic patterns. Also in the mix are various mechanical noises, coughing, a conversation I had with an ex-boyfriend of mine during in the fall of 2009 during my first semester of college at UMass Lowell, me practicing various Solfège exercises and various effects. The parts of the transcribed lyrics that don't make sense are the ones where the audio was unintelligible. The various prolonged chords and dissonances create varying levels of foreboding and general ambience.
lyrics
Nathan Caradimos: I have a question for you, and I need an honest answer.
Reuben Walton: What did you ask me?
NC: Keep reading.
RW: Oh my god.
NC: What--I know, it's a stupid question, but it could happen.
RW: No, I mean, it's just--I said "Oh my god" because it just would...make me feel so sad.
NC: Oh.
RW: And I'm kind of emotionally fragile right now for no reason.
NC: Airing born, everyone goes through changing?
RW: I guess you could call it that, but I don't know.
NC: Babe, are you okay?
RW: Yeah. (coughs) Do...
NC: But babe, what would you do, though?
RW: I would be devastated. I would be absolutely devastated. I would probably at first feel really numb and first, and then...reality would probably set in. And--
NC: Yeah.
RW: I don't know, I've never really had anyone close to me die yet in my life. I've never had someone, like, who's really close to me.
NC: Right.
RW: So I don't know what I would do. I imagine that it would probably just be such a shock I would not know how to deal with it, and how to really f--wouldn't know how to react.
NC: Oh yeah.
RW: Fa Sol...But, I mean, if it was you I would be devastated.
NC: You're the sweetest thing, and the best thing that has ever happened to me.
RW: I hope so, and I hope that you're speaking the truth.
NC: (tone slightly changes to one of attitude) Uh, babe. You think I would lie about something like this?
RW: No.
NC: And umm, I am sweet like I do, you don't know I love you.
RW: Okay.
NC: Are you okay?
RW: Yeah.
NC: Are you sure? You s--You seem kind of sad.
RW: I don't know. I am kind of sad, but I don't really know, uh, any other--
